Metal detectable materials are increasing in popularity and are now commonplace in food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, because, in the event of a gasket or seal failing, any fragments of material can be picked up by metal detectors so they don’t contaminate the product.
The materials contain food safe additives, which are visible to the detectors to ensure that particles do not enter the manufacturing chain or end product.
Generally these products are offered in blue as there are few blue foodstuffs. However we recognise that there are some processes which would benefit from a different coloured seal or different polymer. So in addition to commonly offered polymers such as Silicone and Nitrile, we uniquely, offer many other grades. Including FDA/EC1935:2004 compliant elastomers such as FKM, PVC Nitrile, Polyurethane, Butyl, EPDM, Neoprene and Natural rubbers, together with different colour options. They will be darker in colour because the detectable additives are dark in colour.

Mouldings
We mould a wide variety of products in our Metal Detectable compounds including Depanner Cups, Triclover seals, Bushes, O-Rings, Vac Seals and Unicones.
Compounds
Not only can we offer Blue metal detectable materials from 25° - 90° Sh A, we also offer different colour options in a range of polymers including Silicone, FKM, Nitrile etc.
Fabrications
New to our fabrications range is 1mm Blue Metal Detectable Pu, which can be welded to clear Pu for clarity in bellows and connectors allowing the media to be seen.
Sponge
Metal Detectable Silicone Sponge is ideal for gasketing & door seals used in sensitive food processing areas. Capable of working in temperatures up to 230° C.
Plastics
We have an extensive range of FDA and EC1935:2004 compliant metal detectable plastics in our range including PEEK, Nylon 6, blue and grey Acetal and Polyethylene.
Rubber Sheeting
In addition to our ability to mould sheets, discs and finished products in a range of compounds, we also carry rolls of Blue Metal Detectable Silicone and Nitrile in stock.
