Why choose Blue Food Quality Nitrile?
This grade combines the oil and hydrocarbon resistance nitrile is known for with a blue colouring that’s become the standard across food processing. Blue rubber has grown in popularity for food applications because any fragment that breaks away is far easier to spot against white foodstuffs than a standard black seal would be. It offers good to excellent resistance to water and alkalis, good resistance to dilute acids and bases, and moderate resistance to hydrocarbons and solvents. With an operating range of -30°C to +115°C, it holds up well across most food processing environments.
On compliance, all ingredients in this formulation have been checked against the latest CFR21 FDA 177-2600 ingredient listings and are present at permitted levels, and the grade also complies with EC1935/2004. It’s worth noting that no rubber compound itself carries formal FDA approval, only the raw materials used to make one can, so this reflects ingredient compliance rather than a blanket product approval.
One honest limitation: this grade has poor ozone resistance, so it isn’t suited to prolonged outdoor exposure or applications involving significant UV and weathering.
