High Temperature Gasket Materials

Our high temperature gaskets can be made from compressed non-asbestos fibre (CNAF), semi metallic, or metallic alloys. These materials replaced asbestos-based gaskets which were often used previously, providing comparable thermal resistance without the associated health risks. Rubber binders such as Nitrile or EPDM are often incorporated to improve the flexibility and pressure & chemical resistance of the seal, allowing our high temperature gaskets to perform reliably in an array of different industries and environments.

Applications and Performance

Non-asbestos and metallic high temperature gaskets are suited to heavy and harsh conditions where extreme heat and pressure are present. Non asbestos gaskets maintain their shape and resist chemical damage, even on uneven flange surfaces, while metallic and semi-metallic gaskets offer high levels of durability for applications such as engines, turbines, and high-pressure pipelines. Non-Asbestos Gaskets

Reinz AFM-34 – BS 7531 Grade X, FDA Compliant, Fire Safe, BAM, TA Luft, WRAS Approved

AFM 34 is an asbestos-free gasket material. It contains aramid fibres, inorganic fillers and other high-temperature resistant substances which are bonded with high strength and especially gas-tight under increased pressure and increased temperature.

AFM 30 is an asbestos- free gasket material. It consists of aramid fibres and other asbestos substitutes that are resistant to high temperatures and are processed with high- grade elastomers under elevated pressure and temperature.

A compressed non-asbestos sheet material which combines a high percentage of graphite, reinforced with aramid fibres and a small amount of rubber binder system. A high performance material with excellent mechanical properties, it is suitable for many applications including oils, solvents, high pressure steam and gases including oxygen.

IFG 5500 – ABS Fire-Safe Type Approved

Inorganic fibres with a nitrile binder. IFG5500 offers excellent thermal stability with minimal weight loss, reduced creep relaxation and improved torque retention. The inorganic fibres have excellent thermal and oxidation resistance, withstanding a continuous operating temperature of up to 550° F (290° C), and maximum spike of 800° F (425° C).
