Why choose NCB158 for hazardous and underground environments?
Neoprene has long been valued for its balance of heat resistance and oil resistance, and this white food quality grade brings that same performance to applications where colour matters for hygiene or visual inspection. It offers good to excellent resistance to water and good resistance to oils, alongside fair to good resistance to alkalis and fair resistance to dilute acids, bases and petroleum solvents. With an operating range of -30°C to +100°C and good ozone resistance, it holds up well both indoors and in outdoor equipment exposed to weathering.
On compliance, all ingredients in this formulation have been checked against the latest CFR21 FDA 177-2600 ingredient listings and are present at permitted levels, and the grade also complies with EC1935/2004. It’s worth noting that no rubber compound itself carries formal FDA approval, only the raw materials used to make one can, so this reflects ingredient compliance rather than a blanket product approval.
One honest limitation: this grade has poor resistance to ketones, so it isn’t suited to applications involving exposure to these solvents.
