Thermiculite 815 is a specialised grade of the Thermiculite sealing material family, developed for use in the most challenging industrial environments. This high-performance gasket sheet comprises exfoliated vermiculite reinforced with a tanged 316 stainless steel core, delivering superior structural integrity and chemical resistance across a broad range of applications.
This advanced configuration provides excellent resistance to blow-out, while also offering improved handling, shaping, and durability during installation. Designed for reliability under pressure, Thermiculite 815 performs exceptionally in environments involving superheated steam, aggressive oxidising agents, and high-temperature exhaust and gas systems.
With a maximum recommended service temperature of 1050°C and capable of withstanding pressures up to 20MPa (200 bar), Thermiculite 815 remains stable and secure where conventional gasket materials may fail. Its golden-coloured vermiculite facing ensures consistent sealing performance across thermal cycling and chemical exposure, making it the preferred choice for critical sealing scenarios.
Thermiculite 815 is supplied in various sheet sizes and thicknesses, from 1.0mm to 3.0mm, with standard options of 1.0m x 1.0m and 1.5m x 1.5m. For custom gasket requirements beyond sheet dimensions, please consult our Applications Engineering Department.
Thermiculite 815 is fully asbestos-free and API 607 fire-safe qualified.
