Blue Metal Detectable Silicone Rubber Gaskets
Blue Metal Detectable Silicone Rubber Gaskets.
A food grade silicone rubber in high visibility blue. It contains metal particles so that any fragment from a failed gasket can be traced on the production line, and it works from freezer temperatures right up to oven heat.

Why choose metal detectable silicone for food production?
When a gasket fails on a food line, the real worry is where the missing piece has gone. Blue is a colour that rarely occurs naturally in food, so fragments stand out far more readily during a visual check. The metal particles within the compound allow magnetic detection to pick up anything the eye misses.
Silicone also brings a temperature range that other food grade elastomers struggle to match. It runs continuously from -60°C to +200°C and handles short spells up to +250°C. That makes it a strong choice for ovens, steam cleaning and frozen food lines alike. Its backbone of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms is the reason it stays stable at heat. With a compression set of just 11% after 24 hours at 150°C, the seal holds its shape well over long periods in service. Ozone resistance is excellent too.
The compound has been tested to FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and complies with EC 1935/2004 for food contact. As with any rubber, this is compliance with the regulations rather than a formal approval of the finished product.
