Why choose commercial grade EPDM?
Not every application needs a premium grade material. This commercial EPDM/SBR blend delivers the core strengths of EPDM at a lower price point, making it the sensible choice for low pressure pipe seals, man-way gaskets and weather strip where demands on the material are moderate.
The blend retains the chemical resistance profile EPDM is known for, with excellent resistance to water, alkalis and ozone, very good resistance to acids and good resistance to ketones. It also stands up well to detergents, glycol and most inorganic chemicals, and its ozone resistance makes it dependable for outdoor use. The operating range of -30°C to +100°C covers the conditions found in most general purpose applications.
As with all EPDM grades, resistance to oils, fuels and petroleum based solvents is poor. For those applications, nitrile is the better choice. If your application involves higher pressures, wider temperatures or contact with drinking water, our WRAS approved EPDM grade offers a higher specification alternative.
