Most sealing materials have a comfortable operating range. Push beyond it, and performance drops off fast. For applications involving sustained high heat, whether that’s industrial ovens, furnaces, exhaust systems or high-temperature pipework, standard rubber or fibre gaskets simply aren’t built for the job. That’s where high temperature gaskets and textiles come in.
Here at PTM, we manufacture and distribute a comprehensive range of heat-resistant products for customers across the UK, Europe and beyond. With over 45 years of experience in the high-temperature insulation sector, we know this category well and can advise on the right solution for your specific application.
When a joint needs to hold under sustained thermal stress, the gasket material has to be up to the task. Our high temperature gaskets are manufactured from compressed non-asbestos fibre, capable of handling temperatures up to 400°C and pressures up to 140 Bar. These are used extensively in power generation, petrochemical processing, steam systems and industrial machinery where standard materials would deteriorate quickly.
If you’re unsure whether your current gasket specification is suitable for your operating temperatures, it’s worth having a conversation before a failure forces the issue.
Alongside our gasket range, we supply an extensive selection of high temperature textiles for insulation, protection and sealing applications. The range includes:
- Welding blankets
- Coated glass cloths with Neoprene, Silicone and Polyacrylate coatings
- Ceramic and glass blankets and needle mats
- Glass rope, yarn and packings
- Tadpole tape door seals
- Ladder tape and webbing tape
Textile products are available in coils, strips, sheets and rolls, and can be cut into gaskets or fabricated into covers, jackets and connectors depending on your requirements. Whether you need something straightforward like a welding blanket or something more complex, such as a fabricated valve insulation jacket or a food-grade PTFE coated glass conveyor belt, we can supply it.
High temperature applications carry real risk if the wrong material is specified. Our team is happy to discuss your requirements and point you in the right direction. Contact us on 01625 573971 or email sales@epdm.co.uk.
